Just Nurse Jobs: Start off Career that Matters

If you’re a high school student thinking about what you want your future career to be, and you know you want to do something that matters, why not consider entering the nursing profession? Nursing is a career that enables you to truly show how much you care about people by investing in their health and their lives. And as a bonus, there is no shortage of available positions.

The number of open registered nursing jobs for example, is expected to grow between 20% and 35% by the end of this decade. Even now, many hospitals are understaffed at critical levels because there simply are not enough nurses to fill the schedules. If you’re willing to put in the time and effort to complete your education and earn your license, you could almost be guaranteed to find a job waiting for you immediately after you graduate.

Registered Nurses are Important

Registered nurses are the backbone of the American medical industry, and they are the most educated and highly skilled nurses in the industry. They assist doctors in patient care, head-up hospital nursing departments, work as staff nurses at public schools, provide care in senior citizen homes, and work in many other medical environments. Without skilled registered nurses the American medical system would be nowhere near as strong as it is today.

The Future of Nursing

If you’re curious to know the future of registered nurse jobs, and the profession as a whole, consider a recent report issued by the Canadian Nurses Association (CNA). This organization studied patient wait times at hospitals and clinics and how those wait times were being drastically reduced thanks to the innovative solutions being posed by registered nurses.

The study suggests that because registered nurses are at the front lines of daily patient care, they have great insight into how the healthcare system can be improved. As a result of the study, the CNA now advocates allowing registered nurses to have more input into the day-to-day operation of medical facilities, rather than leaving all decisions up to bureaucrats and insurance companies.

The same trends are showing up at medical facilities here in the United States too. Registered nurses are being called upon more and more to find solutions to the patient care problems our hospitals are facing. This means it’s an exciting time to think about registered nurse jobs and maybe even entering the profession. In fact, it’s quite likely that the nursing students of today will play a large role in developing the medical system of tomorrow.

If you’re someone who believes in good health and helping other people, please consider entering the nursing profession at any level. The industry is in desperate need of all types of nurses and nursing assistants, and it could surely use you. There are plenty of registered nurse jobs, LPN jobs, and nursing assistant jobs just waiting to be filled. Get in touch with a nursing program in your area and get started today.
